Inspection cycles, until the lights go out.

Dispersed network assets on routine inspection, and then, without warning, a restoration where dispatch speed is the entire job.

what is different here

Two operating modes, one set of crews.

  • Restoration throws the whole plan away

An outage pulls every available crew. What was scheduled for the rest of the week has to be rebuilt by hand afterwards.

in Etaprise → planned work re-scheduled automatically after the event

  • Assets are spread across the region

Inspection history for a given structure is hard to find, so crews re-survey what was already checked.

in Etaprise → history per asset, wherever it stands

  • Crew location is a guess

During restoration, dispatch is calling round to find out who is nearest and who is free.

in Etaprise → live position and availability on one board

The other eleven are still there. Sector setup changes which forms attach to a job, which certifications gate an assignment, and what a closed job has to prove, not which software you are running.

what a rollout looks like

In order, and with honest timings.

Network assets spread across a region, inspection cycles that must be evidenced, and restoration work that arrives without warning. This sequence handles the planned side first so the unplanned side has something to interrupt.

  1. weeks 1–3

    Inspection cycles

Get the routine inspection programme onto the system with its forms and evidence requirements. It is predictable work, which makes it a safe first load.

  2. weeks 2–5

    Network asset register

Structures, transformers, switchgear and spans with location and condition, built up as inspections touch them rather than loaded in one go.

  3. weeks 4–8

    Switching, competency and safety

Qualification enforcement and the safety documents that gate live work, so authorisation is checked at assignment rather than at the pole.

  4. ongoing

    Restoration and scheduling

Once the planned programme is running, storm and fault response can be dispatched against the same crews and assets, and the cost of re-planning is visible.

questions from this sector

The objections we hear, answered plainly.

Emergency work re-cuts the schedule and shows exactly which planned jobs were displaced and by how long. The re-planning is the easy part; knowing what you dropped is the part that usually goes missing.

Assets can hang off network structure and location rather than a customer address, which is the normal arrangement for transmission and distribution.

Yes: every inspection, who performed it, what they held to perform it, the readings captured and the photographs, queryable across a period rather than retrieved document by document.

They can be managed as work orders with returned evidence, the same as any subcontracted work. Live crew status depends on whether they use the app.
